Links Tutoring & Mentoring Programs
Western Chances recipients are able to access free tutoring and mentoring programs to support them with VCE studies and to build their networks. Our collaborators include EY Career Coaching, Skyline HATCH and The Institute for Enquiring Minds.
Skyline Hatch Program
For many years, Western Chances has been collaborating with Skyline Hatch to provide free access to VCE study support for our recipients.
Skyline Hatch is a social enterprise that provides content aligned to the VCAA Study Design for subjects including English, English as an Additional Language, Maths Methods, General Maths & Chemistry.
They also host a variety of interactive, online masterclasses tackling study skills topics, such as procrastination, time management, and busting study myths!
Our partnership with Skyline Hatch provides a limited number of places for scholarship recipients to benefit from the βFull Accessβ program with Skyline Hatch. This includes the VCE Hack Series, SAC Preparation Series and Exam Revision Series.
The Institute for Enquiring Minds Tutoring Program
Western Chances has benefited from a long-term collaboration with The Institute for Enquiring Minds, with many of our recipients participating in the program.
The tutoring program provides an opportunity for Western Chances recipients currently studying a VCE maths subject to participate in free, high quality 1:1 maths mentoring.
1 - 2 hour sessions each week with an enthusiastic mathematics expert
All sessions delivered online
For students studying Maths Methods, Specialist Maths and Advanced Maths
There are limited places available each year
EY Career Counselling Program
For many years, EY Australia has been collaborating with Western Chances to offer scholarship recipients in their final or penultimate year of university studies, career mentoring with an EY Manager/Senior Manager. The objectives of the program are to:
Expand professional networks (super important!)
Provide guidance and support on entering the workforce
Connect with like-minded scholarship recipients in the program
The program runs each year from April to October
VCE Revision - Monash Virtual School
Monash University Virtual School are offering free online group sessions and revision classes for Year 11 and 12 VCE students studying a range of subjects including Specialist Maths, Biology, Physics, Psychology, Maths Methods & Software Development. This is a great resource to boost your VCE subject knowledge in the lead-up to exams!
